NAF-Data AS in brief The company develops ICT solutions for, and provides associated services to, the pharmacy sector. All Norwegian pharmacies use the company's systems. They are also used by medical products' retailers, medicine supply outlets and hospital pharmacies. The system has more than 5,000 end users at more than 600 sites throughout Norway. The company has about 40 employees and a turnover of approxmently NOK 50 million (6,5 million €). It started as an independent limited company in June 1989 and is owned by AS Apotekernes Hus. This company is, in its turn, owned by Apotekforeningen [The Norwegian Pharmacy Association] (66 %) and by Stiftelsen til fremme av norsk apotekfarmasi [The Foundation for Promotion of Norwegian Pharmacies] (34 %). NAF-Data offers two main products:   FarmaPro is a computer system for professional processing of prescriptions and payment from National Insurance offices. It has been developed especially to adhere to the Norwegian National Insurance regulations and the price regulation associated with sales of pharmaceutical products. It is a complete system for pharmacy management, integrated with dedicated solutions for POS functions, invoicing, consignment, stores and ordering.   Norsk Apoteknett is an infrastructure for easy and safe communication to and from pharmacies. The intranet is used for electronic ordering, settlement with National Insurance offices, reporting, updating stock registers, software and other data transfer. It is also used for remote support from NAF-Data and to give the pharmacies access to the Internet and e-mail. NAF-Data also operates payment terminals for most pharmacies, and the intranet is connected to the Norwegian National Health network.
